Primary school in Llanrumney plans to move and expand into bigger premises at St Ederyn’s development

A Cardiff primary plans to move and expand to cater for changing demand for school places.

St Mellons Church in Wales Primary School in Llanrumney would move from its site on Dunster Road to a site on the new St Edeyrn’s development.

Last year, a recommendation to put forward plans to “rebalance” primary school provision in parts of North East Cardiff was agreed by Cardiff council’s cabinet.

The proposed changes aim to addres surplus primary school places in the Llanrumney area and a need for additional places in Old St Mellons and parts of Pontprennau, when the St Edeyrn’s housing development is complete.
